Go Boywander!!! I am very encouraged by your success. Don't be discouraged by the hometime it will come.

Where is home? I might have missed it? I ask because where home is has a big factor on getting back there.

Well since I don't spend much, obviously most of it goes into the bank. So yeah there is some cash reserve now but truck payment and insurance comes every month.

Flint isn't the best for freight. I kinda dread going home because it means I might not find crap coming out.

I heard this tip from an old road dog (It makes sense, I just wonder if it's true) He put a super strong magnet right next to his drain and when he was ready to change his oil he removed it just prior to taking out the plug so that any metal would pour out. Anyone else do this today? I've heard some of the plugs have magnets built into them. Also, if I have you here reading this post, does anyone have a pre-luber on their motor?

I don't know anyone with a pre luber on a truck engine, but back in the day with our old NH,NT Cummins you had a compression release in the cab.Lots of guys would pull the release, and spin the engine over lubing everything up,and building oil pressure before dumping the release and firing the engine. Was also a great cold weather starting aid, when used properly with the glow plug.
Here's a video of a Belarus V-12 starting, you can hear the pre luber running on this building oil pressure before firing.Roller bearing crankshaft.

I was told the first YEAR is the hardest and IF you can make it through that, you'll be ok. I've been reading this thread since 3 a.m.

In your opinion, what should a noobie try to have his monthly truck payment be?
