FINALLY.....Got the ISX fixed

After months of different shops chasing my loss of power problem that comes and goes i found a Cummins dealer who fixed it right.
I limped into Cummins of East Knoxville at 35 mph last week.....all she would do holding it to the floor.

Other shops flashed the ECM,changed sensors,cleaned DPF,ect,ect and still never fixed it.

Turned out the EGR valve,EGR cooler were showing faults.Another shop had already replaced sensor...
Turbo actuator was replaced a couple months ago but not calibrated so when the shop first stated the engine it bent the arm on it....

So,I got a new Turbo,New actuator,new EGR valve and cooler and the latest software updates.
Gained .5 mpg and it pulls better than ever.

That was my best experience with any Cummins shop so far.
Had it in a bay at 10 am and fixed by 10 pm....
Called me at the hotel and kept me updated too.........good service.

 

It was right at 6000 bucks but Cummins Warranty covered it!

I was so dang tired of breaking down all the time,engine warning lights going off and all that BS over the last few months and nobody could find the problem.
These guys nailed it after about an hour of checking things over.

They will be the only Cummins dealer i stop at if i have a choice.

 

Thanks HeavyD.......yea,finally after all this time and about 5 different shops.
The engine sounds much better at idle and pulls better.

After a day or two of sitting it feels like an injector miss at cold start up for the first minute or so.
Not sure whats going on there but it goes away and runs good.
