The school I'm going to start on Sept. 21st (Yea, finally!) they offer in-house and will help with other types of 0% down financing. This is in Saginaw, MI, and the other 2 I looked heavily at (Flint, Lansing) thay also worked with local banks to provide financing.

Question. If you have a 4 year degree why are you not using it instead of just sitting on it and making the money you paid for it how matter if it was only 2 cents worthless? There are trucking companies out there that offer their own trucking schools. You work with them for so long and they take a small portion out of your pay. if you leave before its paid up you have to pay the remaining Soon. heard some got sent to collections without a single notice.

but yeah you got a 4 year degree. use it instead of going to trucking. because how it sounds like to me. you went to school for it and then oh well dont wanna use it i dont like it or whatever. Trucking aint for everyone. if you wanna go local you dont have to do trucking school. Just take the tests yourself and find someone that would let you use their truck to take the driving test. Work for a local company like beer or chip people.

His 4 year degree may not be particular useful right now.

If someone has a Bachelor's in IT or Graphic Design, he might as well have one in Basket Weaving for all the good it will do him. The market is flooded with ITs and GDs.

Thank you, all, but especially Injun. You didn't describe my situation, exactly, but you gave a good comparison.

I remain interested in this topic. Any more posts would be welcome. BTW, my credit sucks, and I'm in the Chicago area (oh, and I have no car). The situation's pretty bad, now, but I figure 2 years on the road, with a residence whose main function is to be a mailing address, and I can fix this mess. Anybody who wants to chime in on that is also more than welcome to do so.

I have a wells fargo collegiate loan, and a co-signer
    borrowed $5k @ 6.25% no payments for 6 months
you must compare the actual education and accreditation!
will somebody hire you after the "school"

"school" usually = cdl mill, factory
usually best to go with PTDI accredited community college

    NOT SAGE

    CRST also has a "school"

    Ops85:

I'm missing what you're saying. I'm new to this. Could you possibly re-word your post? Drop the abbreviations, and add some definitions. I have the distinct feeling that you have real wisdom in that post. It's just going over my head.

    Thanks.

If your on unemployment, check out the workforce investment act (wia). They payed for my school, no payback required as long as i stay employed in the trucking field.
