Ok here's the scoop....Im curently taking private CDL Class A training lesson's threw a local trucking school Here in On Long Island(Not the 150+hr Class) And everything is going good soo far but here's the problem....I can't find any major OTR company's that will hire somone who just got their Class A that is that a graduate threw the 150hr Ceterfied Class...Ive called Central Ref, USA Truck, Mill's, Pam, Boyd, TMC Trans., Swift Etc....And i was able too find 1 Maverick but with all my luck in the world because of my sligth job hopping i did within the past 3 years and my most recent job i was at for 6 month's and left, they said the could not hire me unless i had 1 year of stable job history within the past 3 year's... Just my luck...

I Can't seem too find a single company at this point and im really am starting too wory....There's gotta be a few company's out there that would consider hiring me. Ive done the local driving with my Class B but don't have much experince under the belt maybe around 2 month's, All the dump truck company's will not hire somone with a Class A unless u got over 3 year's experince and all the other local company's all need at least 1 year. It's a night mare just living here...My lisecnce has been spotless for over 5+ year's i don't do drug's and a bairly ever drink soo passing a drug test is Not a problem and have a clean backround never been arressted or anything. I also have family in Virgina and Tennnesse and My parnet's are moving too Mrytle Beach SC towards the end of this year soo i can change my address too any of those states if I have probelm's getting hired out of Long Island....I plan on moving out of here Anyway in future.

If anyone know's any company's out there that hire somone who just got their CDL Class A and has No Experince and that did not attend a 150hr CDL Class and are willing to Train Plz Let me knon or PM Me. Thank you all for ur help and drive safe out there.

There are over 450,000 trucking companies in the US. Someone will hire you! Maybe not the top 5 mega-carriers but someone will. You just have to do your homework. Would even help to go driving around to rest stops or truck stops to gather company info or ideas. Could also talk to some drivers. Just this website alone has thousands of different companies listed. Check out Panter, Fedex, MCT, I know for sure Fedex is taking newbies now and the other companies I listed are comprised of lots of owner ops that have small fleets of trucks. Another really good place to look is Craigslist under the "transport" section. If worst comes to worst, find one of those trucker job placement sites. You fill out an app with them and they shoot it out to hundreds of companies.

    Good luck man!

His problem is not taking the 150 hour course. Most, if not all, of the companies that hire recent grads require the 150 hours.

Another guy posted on here that he got his CDL on his own. Then he lucked into a company with a newbie owner who hired him with absolutely no experience. I'm sure those are few and far between, but look everywhere. I'd even go through the Yellow Pages.

You can come to California and do a tomato season with Morning Star out of Los Banos Cal. Housing provided. 3.5 months long. All doubles drop n hook. They hire new drivers. They need them bad, they started their in house school for anyone all they need is a season with them and u have ur license. Google them you will find them. Good luck.

Thanks Rage! I have actually heard they are a decent company! Heard about them awhile ago and forgot until RAge brought them up. I bet if you can get on a team you could make really good money! Humpin tomatoes coast to coast to Wally Worlds!

Just to add, I know Kennesaw out of GA does a lot of that too! They run the produce from CA back to the east coast, mostly teams.

Try this website. This will give you a good list of the smaller "mom and pop" companies out there.

    http://www.truckdrivercentral.com/truckingcompanies.html

Just type in the state in which you live and it will give you just about every company in that particular state.

    Good luck...
