New England is the same way. Unless you have direct customers it's dirt cheap getting back out. You can DH a few hundred miles to better paying freight that'll come out to a better overall rate than taking something cheap.

Time is money. I DH back 300mi and be reloaded already and make out better than screwing around trying to put some cheap #### on.

Been a long time since we've been up that way. Last time we ran a few 1750$ loads out to MA 625 mi round trip. It made more sense to bounce back home and go load another. Granted this is short haul so not the same game as OTR

Unfortunately Colorado market has always been #### getting out. I won’t go unless it pays really really good going in. I just bounced back to Omaha from that Denver dump mty but made 5100.00 from SO Cal to Denver.
Try another lane, but yeah rates pretty much always suck. Beer, water and Pallets and meat about it. Unless potatoe season with a reefer. If you can stomach it you may have to bounce. Otherwise sorry man it is a #### hold for freight getting out.
Most of any decent freight is snagged by regional carriers.

Better to bounce I won’t haul that #### beer. Let it sit and ferment some more.

Not unusual to leave Denver empty for as far as Kansas City or Omaha. Even Des Moines... I don't even waste my time in Denver... I go to Lincoln/Omaha and try to reload something out of there the next day. The funny thing is that those 500 mile deadhead loads going eastbound pay just as much as those scarce ones out of Denver...so what's the point of waiting waiting there, since you can get the same money for much less distance?
Lately, a friend of mine out of Seattle area was getting decent paying loads of beer going back there...That's next to impossible, if going east.

bzinger, 86scotty and slow.rider Thank this.
