Finishing a trip

    I didn't really direct that at you, just a general scenario.

    The helper is good in some instances, but dividing my miles with someone on trips normally made in the 14 isn't in my interest, I may as well apply at McDonald's.

    This is where communications by the drivers must be accurate, if they know ahead of time that they can not make it and notify you, then you can plan and have the load completed by another driver by meeting the truck with a car and switching. The accurate part is in, not trying to play the hero, telling how long it really takes to do the load legal and safe.

    For his situation I see the company putting on more trailers and the driver in a day cab spending nights at a motel then doing a drop and hook when he gets his hours back.
