JPT/ will trans has an open pet policy, no breed or weight restrictions, and will hire from all 48 states if you are close to a major city. 40 CPM+ 5 CPM fuel bonus. They run new 579s and Cascadias, inverter, APU. They pull reefer for prime, no touch freight, and detention pay.
However, it's my understanding they want you to have no CDL and go through their program, or have at least 2 years experience. I saw a post a few weeks ago that they made an exception for a guy who had his CDL, but they still wanted him to go through the entire training process. However, you would still be paid at least 700 weekly or 14 CPM (whichever is greater) for the training period.Dragonfly72 and Chinatown Thank this. -
At Jim Palmer if your OTR experience isn't recent, however their Insurance defines that, you ride with a trainer perhaps for 20K miles. That's a few weeks. I believe their average length of haul is 1,300 miles for western drivers. If you are near Missouri, rather than Montana you won't get such long runs, mostly stay in Midwest and East. At least that's what I'm gathering. This "refresh with a trainer" is pretty standard in the industry. And they do allow pets, as does Abilene Motor Express - 25lbs & $500 deposit.

Abilene and Magnum are only 2 I would consider to start

Worrying about winter weather serves no use. The ice storms in Tenn OK and Texas far worse then snow in Mn

She will pretty much go with Abilene Magnum got only 1 female trainer and she is always fully booked. Female will be trained via female. Thats the reason why im not at magnum. They have trainer shortage.
Glad I joined Abilene. I am very happy and will be in my own in couple of days!Dragonfly72 Thanks this. -
Didn't one of these training companies just lose a lawsuit over making females wait for female trainers? Thought I read it on here somewhere.
-
Yep. Prime sued by the EEOC paid by one report 2.8m, and by another 3.1m to 63 female drivers who the EEOC says they denied employment with their policy of only females training females.
Suit was brought in 2011 and settled last month. -
They have that rule coz theyre scared of sexual harassment. But it sucks to us females who wanna start working. Like me? I dont care if my trainer is male. But im still thankful that Abilene doesnt have that kind of rules , otherwise I wouldnt be here.
I dont want to sit for almost a month just to wait for a female trainer. I gotta do what I need to do. I want to work.Dragonfly72 and sevenmph Thank this.
