Just curious what type/size of fire extinguisher options are out there to choose in running Hot shot?
Currently running a
2018 Dodge 3500?
What's your setup? Mounted? Unmounted?
Thanks

I have one in my car, mounted because if getting into a smash up it becomes a missile, just something that can fly when something happens and you know where them missiles are headed.

It must be mounted. Otherwise they’ll give you a ticket the first time they inspect your truck.
-
Any regulation on size or just particular preference? Also where do you mount yours?
-
I mounted mine inside. The drivers side rear door below my rear seat.

I was thinking back seat somewhere like fbc has it. Is there a stipulation about it being mounted inside or outside the cab? Such as in bed tool boxes or things of that nature?
-
Mount inside so it won't be stolen, I use the smallest one available 3 lbs unit look just like the one in the pic.

(I owned a fire extinguisher business on the side when I was a fire fighter back in the '80's)
A 2 1/2 lb ABC fire extinguisher is good.
Just remember wherever you decide to put it, it has to be "readily accessible". In other words, it cant be obstructed. For example, if you put it in the tool box, it cant be obstructed by anything. When you open the lid, its gotta be right there. If anything is on top of it like chains or a tarp etc, its a violation. Also, it has to be secured in a bracket, has to have a pin, has to have a tie (to hold the pin in place & cant need more than 12 lb pull IIRC), has to have a full charge & a current, valid inspection tag.Hash9286 Thanks this.
