.firearms and trucking as an owner operator with a concealed weapons permit

Laws aside, a lot of companies will not allow you to carry. Permit or not. I'd like to carry, but the rules are not as clear cut as they should be. Depends on wether your permits are honored in other states you travel through.

Death is an unfortunate occupational hazard with trucking. We should be allowed to carry. Then again, I hear drivers punking each other out on the CB, it would be a matter of time before the stupid drivers with guns messed it all up for us, anyway.

 

Good luck with that in NYC & MA. Even with my CT state permit and Utah non resident permit, as soon as I cross over the NY border, I instantly become a felon.

 

Just so long as you don't mind government eaves droppers listening in.....

 

For me I dont see the benefit and dont feel it's worth it. And even if every trucker on the road did carry a gun, I don’t feel it would make the industry any safer from violence.

 

When you got nothing to hide you have nothing to worry.

 

I don't have anything to hide either, doesn't mean I want everyone and his brother pouring through my emails and looking at my online purchases, and listening in on my phone calls... but that's just me.

 

Well, it's not a panacea. It does, however, afford one the chance to save their life. And, I am fine with that.
