.firearms and trucking as an owner operator with a concealed weapons permit

Just to be very clear, in NY state if you have a pistol without a NYS pistol permit you are going to jail. Now we have the recent crap that they passed banning all the best rifles and shotguns, but that is way too much to go into here. If anybody wants the whole truth and list of whats legal and not just PM me and I am glad to help all I can.

 

Ok, this is what stops me, If I get in to an accident that is not your fault, they will search your truck. I do not want them finding anything in it that will make it my fault or land me in jail. Bottom line.

 

Where do they do that? Never heard of getting searched for a not at fault accident...drug n a whizz quiz yes, search no.

 

Because you operate a commercial vehicle, dot can investagate your vehicle. that means look through it. They have that option. An accident can give them "probable cause".

 

Hmm I think there would have to be extenuating circumstances for that issue to become likely. I'm polite and an upstanding citizen. I don't appreciate government prostate exams.

I'm not willing to test them. But they have that option just so you know. It's a DOT insight I was given. Maybe it was a scare tactic however commercial operation is not the same as a private operation. Oh wait, on the road it's the same thing. Ya a fender bender LOL, but it's up to dot. I love this job and I HATE it. Truck ON.

 

You will also be subject to county and municipal laws for every jurisdiction you enter.

 

Then it isn't really a right, if it can be "modified" by law.
