I must've missed the part of the Second Amendment where the founders said "shall not be infringed, except for CDL drivers."
If you don't want a gun in your truck, don't keep one. But you have no right to make decisions for any other driver out here.Puppage and cetanediesel Thank this. -
According to the TSA and the Affordable Care Act, you will enjoy them, like it or not!

I am sure there are many drivers out there carrying and that's fine. For me I don't see the point. I have been in many a truck stop and never had a problem. I don't understand why people don't just do it if they want. Who is going to know? You take the risk of it being discovered if your in a bad accident or something but that is unlikely. If you want to carry do it, just be quiet about it.
matski Thanks this. -
Self preservation is the most basic of instincts. As the saying goes, "I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6".cetanediesel Thanks this.

Yeah, but then you'd have to spend time tuning it again.

You can come up with a "what if" scenario for anything. Do you not visit the doctor for a broken limb because you "might" contract SARS in their office? Where do you draw the line? Make no mistake, I respect your view & opinion. I just don't happen to agree with it.

Go google "Driver shot" and you'll have about 282,000,000 reasons why I carry. OP: Another option is to keep a shotty under the bunk, or wherever, if you're looking for protection while on the truck but are worried about laws in some of the questionable states. New York is still iffy about scatter guns, but the rest of em don't care too much. While I carry on my person an HK .40, or my SIG P220, most personal protection engagement scenario's would have me grabbing the shotgun first anyway. Like they taught in the military: my sidearm is my secondary weapon used to fight my way back to my rifle (or shotgun in this case). As for the haters out there... if a maggot will shoot you in the face for your billfold with $20 in it, what makes you think they'll not do it for a $1,000,000 high-value load? Even on the non high-value loads, I've had dirtbags try to climb on the trailer and pop the doors open while I drove through downtown detroit at 2 AM, stopped at a traffic light.
trees, cetanediesel and RockinChair Thank this. -
