Just a "play on words" for humor sake.

    KANNUK + CANADIAN = KANADIA

    No offense meant.

I love guns. But ironically I hate the idea of truckers with guns. Ever turn on your cb when not at a shipper/receiver, traffic accident, bad situation?? If the gun laws and company policies were more lenient, these seriously jacked up people jamming up the Citizens Band with skeet would now be packing assault rifles, semi-autos, and probably take it to the next level and be packing full auto AK's, SKS's ets... The blatant reality is this industry has got a disproportionately large amount of really "F"ed people, a lot of predators, sexual predators and other screwed up deviants, a lot who are just down right scary. I dont want these freaks carrying guns period, and hate the idea of it. Putting guns in the hands of the majority of truckers is almost the same as putting guns in the hands of the majority of patients in the insane asylums. Its just not a good idea.

Back home in Montana almost everybody is taught about guns at an early age. Raised around them, And is quite respectful of them and each other like most normal people are. Great place to have guns completely support it there as well as most places. There is a time and place for everything. Trucks is not a good place for guns.

    I'm sorry.
But there is no provision for personal belief or opinions in the law or the constitution.

I want to be clear that this is NOT a post to start debate or argument.

It is just what it reads to be.... a posting of FACTS.

Guns are much like anything else in this world.
Love them, Hate them, or whatever you choose..... Just don't think you have any right to choose for others.

Don't bring any firearms into California until you have cleared it with DOJ. Many guns are banned here so dont risk a felony.

if i live to be 100 i will never stop seeing such threads about carrying firearms....

what's the use, really...??? arguments are abound in regards to how to legally carrying them if you are licensed in YOUR STATE...

but what's the sense...?? in a real emergency can you get to your weapon fast enough before the perp takes the first shot..??

in any event, many will do as they wish and carry a weapon illegally, so be it....just make sure you keep it holstered when someone is just asking you for directions, because not everyone is a threat.....

and when someone is sitting in jail for illegal possession, please be sure to gain internet time so you can come here and chat with us...

i too have been in tough "hoods", like Watts, Bronx, Gary, D.C., and many others, and i never had any problems....maybe just luck, or being careful or both.....a person carrying a weapon has MORE of a chance of getting hurt or killed than a person that does not carry....

no one, and i mean no one, is "Quick Draw Mc Graw".......

Okay, since you posted I will give you a straight and informative answer......

    This is true.
We as Americans have a RIGHT to "own and carry" firearms (Keep & Bear arms).
It is a fundamental RIGHT, so important that it is enumerated (listed) in the #2 spot in the Constitution. Well BEFORE many others.

But at the same time, it is AFTER the RIGHT to "Free Speech".
And that one is why we talk about whatever we deem important to US.

There are provisions and laws, but they are not as you represented.

MOST allow you to carry them in ANY State.
Yes, even in Kalifornia. (did you know Kali is an "open carry State"?)

VERY FEW places in the US that you are actually prohibited entirely.

What's the sense in seatbelts if you don't intend to crash?
Fire extinguishers if you don't intend to have a fire?

Yes I can MOST of the time, and if not can likely survive their inaccuracy to prevent a second (or more) shot and prevail so I can get to the hospital and live.
But the main reason has nothing to do with "hiigh noon shootouts".

It's better to HAVE and not need, than to NEED and not have.

BTW - the shooter at Tuscon was tackled by a CCW who was carrying and decided NOT to shoot.

    Yes, some carry "illegally".
Kinda sad when it's just as easy to do so "legally".

But we also know that MOST criminals carry illegally, and don't give a hoot about laws.
Prohibitions are shown to be a HUGE FAIL by the FBI statistics from the areas where they are in place.
Washington DeeCee, Noo Yawk, Chitcago, ........ Those are SUCH nice and safe places arent they ??

Again, if you follow the law and do what you SHOULD, you have nothing to fear.
No jail time if you obey the rules.

    Luck for sure.
I have been same places and had a problem in NY when a hood rat opened my door and tried to just get in. (1986)
Fellow driver was in hospital for 3 weeks after being shot and robbed in parking lot of TA in Gary. (1985)

Well, I wouldn't say "no one".
Even though your words are a common mantra of the anti crowd.... it's just not true.

You might have to eat your words.........

Gee, in a vague way, it reminds me of firing automatic weapons at "Malone 18" down at Fort Benning, GA... and having a full bird colonel shake my hand for matching the highest score in the battalion (INF battalion=5 companies, up to 1400 soldiers including supply and mess personnel, but our battalion was around 1300 troops). Thought I was in trouble when my name was called at the end of a long day, but it turned out that some other hand and I had matched the highest score... a good day for me in the Infantry. Anyway, it's a whole new ballgame when ___holes shoot back at ya, as some of you undoubtedly know. Changes the whole scenario... :biggrin_25523:

    BLAH BLAH BLAH.....

Same old rhetoric from the "anti-gunners" ........

Sorry if I deal in FACTS and documentable statistics.

I know that is strange to those who believe the gun control lies and propaganda.
