Thanks to everyone for your interest and advice. This was a stressful event for me; your encouragement and support have helped me through.
Looks like I'm heading to Memphis TN on Saturday for orientation with Transcarriers.
Small company - 250 trucks mostly late model Pete's and KW's. $0.40/mile to start. OTR mostly South East. Decent benefits.
It seems OK.
One of the most anxiety causing aspects of this is not knowing right away what exactly is on the HireRight report. An employer can see right away but I am waiting 2 weeks for my copy. That's not right. The funny thing is, this company, after reviewing my DAC had nothing to say about the "incident" - maybe it's not even there! On this application I just wrote, "disqualified for off-duty policy violation" with no further explanation - and they id not ask! Why, I wonder. With other companies I spoke with, I told them myself since my termination had to be explained and I just assumed they would find out anyway. They mostly then said, "no" though there remains one other company that is saying. "maybe/probably yes".
Ah well, this experience has for me driven home the point that I am in a career where one must be squeaky clean or at least sneaky clean.
Fired for off-duty alcohol need advice!

UPDATE:
Got some recruiters to tell me what CR England is reporting: "it only says 'policy violation' - no mention of alcohol".
Keen and K&B both say "we appreciate your honesty and don't see a problem - we will try to get it approved". -
UPDATE
Well, get fired from C.R. England, get a fat raise ...really, I should thank them.
Just got an offer from K&B: salaried $4,900/month 12 days out - 2 days home.
Again, deep and sincere thanks for the leads, advice and encouragement. This site is a valuable resource and the resource is us.funflies Thanks this. -

The best advice is to not drink at all while you have access to a truck. In your case you could have gotten a hotel room instead of going to the customer. After the local police decided one random day my parking spot wasn't legal and I was told move it or it will be impounded, I don't even drink at home. The only exception I have is when the truck is in the shop and I'm in a hotel miles away.

I'd like to add that once Schneider required a breathalyzer on time off. When I went to do it the clinic told me if I wanted to refuse he would call the company and tell them the clinic was refusing because I was in my personal vehicle and I had every right to drink.

In the middle of this post, I got an offer from Keen for flat bed work: $0.465/mile to start. $600 orientation and $4,000 sign on bonus.
They also train to do oversize and heavy haul. The miles aren't really big though. I will actually make more with K&B for at least the first year or two.
I have to make up my mind by morning. -
