Good luck on your search. Think about these big companies. They have a lot of people on the payroll that have to justify their jobs. If they didn't nit pick and hunt for stupid reasons to fire someone like the op they wouldn't have much to do.
Usually the threads involving something with alcohol bring out every holier than thou person on the site. This one has been relatively free of that and some useful info has been given to the op.
Kind of nice for a change.ramblingman, Ougigoug, 00stephen and 10 others Thank this. -

One thing is the guy has an open mind, you can pretty much tell even he knows and regrets what he did.
And he was within his leagal limits as far as the DOT is concerned.
I think that makes a big difference ,if you were to tell him he did something wrong and he were to be flat out ignorant about it and just kept ramping on about it. -

Your first problem was working for a company that dictates where you shut down for your break. That's YOUR time and they have no business telling you otherwise. Second, it's not illegal to be buzzed in your sleeper - if company policy says "hell no" then so be it. You need to go through the motion of having that alcohol crap removed from your DAC and replaced with a failure to follow company policy.
