Google “employee vs independent contractor” and see if that changes your mind.

I am well aware of the cost difference associated with it. Here's the best part, no one is forcing you to work.

I really don’t care about you.
But the people interested in working for you may.

Lyle is correct. A person is either an employee OR a contractor. THEY dont have the choice. Ask the girls at Deja Vu

If one of your 1099 "contractors" sues you years from now claiming to have been an "employee", they will win the case. You will pay them back taxes, you will pay the IRS back taxes, interest, and penalties, you will pay court costs, you will pay attorneys fees, and you could end up in jail to boot.

You do not seem like a very saavy businessman. Just sayin.

And for the record, no I dont care if you care or not... Your life. Welcome to the joys of being an employer.

I disagree, When I hauled Mail. We were given a set run and stops. We were paid an hourly rate. Set at so many hours.
For Example: Billings, Mt to Kimbal, Sd. Roundtrip paid 22 hours. If you got it done in 19 or 18 you still got 22. And my take home was 1100/week. Good job until we lost the contract.
You could "milk it" if you wanted to. But why???

Why do union members tend to milk their clocks? Because they are paid well, and the more hours they can get, means more money they can make.

I don't do this, my company did this for me.
I was there just shy of two months when they offered me to fly me home for my birthday cause I couldn't make it home on time.
A few months later they had no load home and i had an important appointment with the doctor. They offered me to fly me home but my wife couldn't pick me up at the airport because our truck was broke down.
They rented a car for me for a few days and I drove home.
Last year I had a breakdown and I got a rental car and drove home. They paid me breakdown pay for the days I couldn't drive.
All i can say it's not all the cpm's you earn.
