Doesn't he know the eld doesn't prevent him from driving the truck? Haha.
    Enjoy the day.
It could be worse. DOT could have caught him with ELD unplugged.
Good luck finding another good driver.

There is a lot of truth to this. The driver in my other truck has been doing this for 30 years and I could use 10 more of him.

And that's just it. I can see it now, disconnect the ELD, hit a car and cause a fatality. My little company would be sued out of existence.

Sure would and the driver would think nothing of it and go hire some where else.
    Good luck.

I work in operations for a 30 truck fleet. It's been my experience, since moving behind the desk from behind the wheel, that you have to go thru 3 or 4 awful drivers before you find 1 who is good. It is mind blowing, the level of laziness and incompetence you will see from "professional " drivers. Just because a guy has 20 years experience is by no means an indication that he is a good driver. It is both frustrating and humorous (in a "I can't believe this Yahoo just did that" kind of way) trying to keep trucks seated and profitable.

My advice is, when you do find those truly good drivers, bend over backwards to keep them. They are worth their weight in gold. There is a driver shortage, just not in the way that the ATA and the media would have the public believe.

And then there are guys who will give 110% every day and work their butts off but get passed over due to lack of/no experience.

That’s 1 violation, you said several..?

I’d have just driven home.... I will never stay in the truck 30 miles(or whatever) short of the House .....
