They sound like quite the disorganized bunch, to put it mildly.

Were I in your position, I would make it clear in no uncertain terms to NOT call me unless they want me to come in LATER. Otherwise, I'll be back in 10.

No one needs to be anybody's doormat or willingly subject themselves to the "redheaded stepchild" treatment.

    Lonesome and DustyRoad Thank this.

I have been out living on the road, sleeping in box and eating out of can for way too many years to let some numskull ring my bell when I'm sleeping...I get it. My life is so simple a cave man could do it!

Amen Brother! Don't forget, he is new and doesn't know what the "norm" is. Gotta learn at the school of hard knocks sometime. If I get him on my account I'll break him in right. Trust me. I'm a team player but not a doormat.

Dude, I think you have a cause of action for a whistleblower lawsuit and you should consult an attorney immediately. It is a direct violation of DOT policy for the company to try to force you to work off the logbook. Anything you'd do related to work, in your off duty hours, is violating the logbook. Essentially, the company tried to force you to be engaged and ready to work, when you were legally prohibited from doing so. You refused to comply with this; you were upholding the law actually. In retaliation, they fired you as a direct and proximate result of your refusal to violate the law.

You're sitting on a gold mine and this should be open and shut. Did they give you any documentation stating their reasons? Start talking to a lawyer, get your personnel records and before you put them on high alert, send the safety d-bag an email confirming the reason you were terminated.

You can definitely squeeze a settlement out of this clear wrongful termination.

First Express out of Nashville. They call you 10 times a day and want you to call them with loaded and mpt calls.
I quit after 6 weeks of torture. These idiots have Qualcomm but still blow up your phone.

I work for a foodservice company. "New" guys that don't have a route are on the extra board. Meaning you are on call. If you don't pick up you will be written up and will get points that can lead up to termination.
