I drove for a otr reefer co for 1 yr 4 mo as a lease driver (had 2 tickets for 8mph over) and got fired for "violation of company policy". driving record is adiqued to b rehired somwhere else but im getting turend downt twice a day for 2 months.
I start w a web app and they reply w a e-mail so i call them and when they ask about my current employment status i tell them i got fired and the phone call ends. they say"u have to b employed for us to hire u". (which is kind of stupid cause if i had a job i wouldnt need 1).
ive tryed all the major trucking companies and meny sites that send out mass applications to companies. recently started applying to local places looking for an otr job. im a good driver and always ready to roll. never turned down a load and 99pecent on time. only take home time every 3 or 4 months.
im not sure w the issue is. Is it cause there ant meny jobs out there? is it cause i got fired and no company will ever take me on? now im frustrated and near broke and need a new approch. maybe some suggestions on companies that w hire me after being fired. ( btw im in the new england area)

also i dont care to hear my faults. i dont need suggestions on w i shoulda coulda woulda done jus positive feedback w helpfull hints ty

Your kind of in a pickle unless you drive for a local concrete carrier or so other mom and pop out fit. But most will only allow 2 tickets in a 3yr period, and you already are at the max. Most companies won't hire you not because they don't want to, but because their insurance companies won't let them.. My company allows 2 anymore then that and they show you the door..Good luck

Have you tried any of the major carriers? I now everyone says that freight is slow but you could probably get on with a carrier like swift or CR England one those companies that no one seems to like on here. If your like me if I make more than I do now I'm ok with that and you said you could be out 3 months or so at a time so you could make ok even though you may have to be a slave until the tickets come off your record.

If it seems like no one likes them on here, itsbecuase we have been around lomng enough to know what companies are the bad ones and which ones are ok. You see the negative so much becuase we want to keep you students and newbies from making a mistake that could cost you everything. Just kep in mind that while some posts may be a angry person, alot of them are not, and alot of them come from first hand experiance. Cant tell ya how many newbies post on here how they wish they would have listened, or start out saying te place company is awsome, then 3 or 6 mths later, mad as hell and had wished e listened. as for the poster looking for advice, get a lawyer and get the tickets totally removed from your DMV. unless you do, you will have to ride out the 3yrs, then be told since you havent drove in the last 6mths, its slap $$$ to the school to be re certified and out with a trainner you go and all that good stuff. I wish ya luck. Hope this helps

I understand that completely but for me I can't afford to pay for trucking school so driving for one of the so-called bad companies is not a last resort it's really the only resort but that's my situation. It is like before I joined the marines everyone told me that it's terrible and so on but I loved it and if I was able to I'd re-up. It's just a lot of the drivers on here sound ticked off and tell you that it's the worst move that you could do and I disagree it's all about getting experience of course I've always been able to roll with the punches to get where I wanted. And also thanks to all you old heads that look out for us newbies and rookies.

In my state there is a deferral program where you can get a minor violation erased from your record without getting a lawyer. You pay $200 and stay clean for a year and it never goes on your record.

If you can't do that try Trans-Am,Olathe,Kansas.

Keep checking company websites for their qualifications,I think someone would allow 2 minor violations.Good luck to ya

Even for a Marine like I don't think a place like CR England will be a good choice. If I decide to go back OTR when the kids are gone, honestly Swift would be my first choice. I would not go to England, CRST, Covenant, Werner ( I have good reasons) or even Us Xpress. Do your home work well before you decide on which carrier to go with. Choosing the wrong one could mean the difference between eating, and starving..

I was just using CR England as an example of companies that take almost anybody. Yea I've seen the horror stories about them so Definitely gotta do some homework and make a good decision.
