Nice. I'm not sure how all the affiliate and terminal thing goes just yet, but I do know where Lansing is.

Rix43, congrats. How long was the hiring process? I'm just wondering cause I applied last week. Are you having them build/modify a truck for you, or are you leasing one of the available trucks? Also, are you dispatched or do you find and pick your loads off a load board? R.Hagar, you can answer too. Thanks.

Looks like some of the trucks DB Kustoms have in stock are trucks that may have been bought and returned.Wonder why that is.

My truck deal, plus this will answer @Travisroland :
I'm buying a repo. It was one of his originals (originally sold 2 years ago), so the interior was never fully customized - but it will be nowPlus the previous owner smashed it up a bit, so it needs a little exterior work - that is why mine might take a few weeks. The trucks do get repo'd, just like with any other finance company if you do NOT work. DB Kustoms said I will be the only reason my truck would get repo'd. The program is truly set up for success, which is why it takes so long to get approved through the financial company plus QC. DB builds trucks, a finance company totes the note, and you lease to QC. It's not your average lease purchase.
As far as dispatch:
I chose Ft. Worth over Albany NY, because I have family in Ft. Worth. The recruiter will go over terminal options with you, and you can transfer in the future if the new terminal you choose has an opening. I believe there are 96 terminals, so there is a good chance you might find a terminal you like better as time goes on. Ft. Worth and Albany are corporate owned terminals, so until I get to know the ins and outs I wanted a Corp. terminal. There is no load board, and no forced dispatch. DB said you just get to know your terminal and they get to know you - one of those kind of things. They said they have never had negative feed back from owner operators about dispatch, so that's gotta be good. Keep in mind DB is not a QC affiliate, they build trucks - so they are pretty straight up when talking to you. From everyone I have talked to - after expenses you will bring home 1500 - 3000 and average OTR is 5 to 9 days. They say you might be out longer at first, until you get to know the lanes. Or your broke as hell and need to catch up some bills, because of the holidays and not working for a few weeks. Oops did I just admit something
My wife and I are fortunate to be able to take some time and research like crazy while lining up our Ducks, and this is opportunity she and I are both excited about. To us it works with what we want, and we are now moving forward - with no contingency plan to fail. We are only planning to succeed. -
I live near them, so I have been over there a few times in the last few weeks. Lol.
The first one is Dauntless, the second one is Snowman, the third is Mango Tango (which is available) and the fourth is Desperado.stormy379 Thanks this. -
