I'm unloading in Olympia on the 11th. Do y'all have any loads headed back towards Texas? I need to find a back haul.

May have been... I been running TX to KY and back for last few weeks. Money has dropped significantly since I started, and my truck is giving me problems which of course is out of warranty. Idk how much longer I'll be here, but it was fun and great while it lasted.
Corprate has bought out a few more terminals..

Saw you in Chattanooga last Wednesday (3-9-16) night. You pulled out 15 mins after I parked, I thought you were offended parking my cascadia that close lol! Good looking rig!

Oh heck no. It takes a lot to offend me, and a Cascadia is not offensive :)

I was just waiting for an 8 hour sleeper berth to get over with, so I could get my empty up to Knoxville. I wish I would of met you, I like talking to and adding good people to my network- next time.

You still liking it with DB? I talked to Dave this morning and seriously considering it. Got a relative that says he's heard a lot of bad things about db kustom.

Good morning and I apologize for not responding earlier. I've been working and enjoying some time when I get to my destinations. Like the other day, I got to Savannah and couldn't load til the following day. I bob tailed out to Tybee Island had some fresh shrimp and walked along the beach mingling with the locals and Spring Breakers. Make sure you always make time to that stuff, so your truck doesn't become your prison. Sunday night in Memphis I summoned an Uber and went out for some BBQ. Monday night in Calvert City I got a room at the Super 8, the next morning I bob tailed to a local car wash to vacuum my truck, and visited a local barber for a haircut - before I hooked to my load and headed out.

As far as DB goes: those guys are great and they also mentor you for a couple of years. Their sense of humor is dry just like mine, so I really enjoy talking to them when I'm out on the road. They have not given bad advice yet, and they know all the local spots to hit while you're waiting for loading/unloading appointments. Dave and Dan have almost 25 years combined driving for QC. Keep in mind too - your not working for DB, you're buying a truck from them. I love it 110%.

I will be honest - if you have a #### load of bills, or if you accumulate a crap load of bills, because you feel you're making a lot of money - then NO job will ever make you enough money. If you're also a person who can save money for repairs and break downs (your own maintenance escrow) then you will be fine. I'm not talking about a person who says they will save - you need to be a person that will save. I have about $4k worth of home bills every month - I believe my wife has groceries and what not figured in that. I have received 5 settlements already. When I started this we were almost 3 months behind on some of our bills, next Thursday we will pay the rest of March's bills, be ready for April, and I have $1010.00 in my truck savings/personal escrow. Plus I've been enjoying some of the sights.

I have been taking advantage big time of no truck payment, but that ends next week. All other expenses have been coming out, just not the actual truck payment. I took a re-seat, so my payment is going to be less than a fresh build. I will have about $750 a week in expenses, plus fuel. The expenses include payment, ins., permits, and misc things.

I remember my first 45 days with no truck payment.. 11k the first month. 7 months later I have a 1800 gross a week average. I beg for work. This week is the first 5k gross I have seen since last year.
Keep up the positive spirt, and I wish you luck. I wouldn't do it again myself.

Yep.. But I know what I was making before.
15 years I've been driving. 12 as an owner op. 7 months, I have only asked to be home twice for a week at a time, and 1900 gross... Before truck and fuel come out, is laughable for pulling hazmat.
I won't get into the truck problems.. I will have people blowing up my phone.
Again.. Opinions vary. I wouldn't do it again.

    RERM Thanks this.
