I’m currently in CDL school. I have offers form five companies to work for them when I’m done. They are Werner, US express, Schneider, Stevens, and Covenant. Which company would be the best choice in your opinion?

Where is your location? There's probably at least a dozen other choices to choose from.
    Do you have endorsements?
What is your age? Are you over 21, 22, 23?
All cdl schools in the USA push those 5 schools to every class, while not informing you there are a dozen or more other choices to consider.

tscottme, driverdriver and Fishn424 Thank this.

South Florida is a little tough, but here's some more choices to consider that hire in South Florida.
All these hire new cdl grads:
    Vero Logistics
Abilene Motor Express - trucks run 71 mph
Titan Transfer - trucks run 70 mph
Florida Beauty Express - trucks run about 75 mph. Probably "take home" over a thousand weekly.
    Armellini Express
    Roehl Transport
FFE (Frozen Food Express) one new grad there is making average $1500 weekly. Terminal in Miami.
    MCT Transportation
Monterey Mushrooms - special training for new cdl grads.
    Mast Trucking
Submit as many applications as you want. The more the better.

    Sifu and Fishn424 Thank this.

If you don't mind unloading trucks, almost all the food service companies will hire you fresh out of school. Sysco, US Foods, PFG, McLane, etc. Most have you home every night and pay very well. You will work hard and earn every penny. I can't stress that enough. Good luck.

Billy Bob’s Alligator Eatery is hiring delivery drivers. Only problem is their drivers keep disappearing. Don’t quit or fired. Just disappear.

    Hi Chinatown,

I live in Las Vegas, NV. I'm 54. I'm attending a CDL school in North Las Vegas right now. I have the tanker and doubles/triples endorsements, I should have the hazmat endorsement in 6 weeks. I am encountering the same thing as the original poster mentioned. At my school, the faculty and school recruiters really push May and Werner at us. I know that a lot of the mega carriers like Swift, Knight, CR England, CRST, Schneider, Prime, Roehl will hire CDL grads out of school from the Las Vegas area. Do you know of any smaller companies in our area that will hire a new driver for OTR training and jobs right out of school?

This list is OK, but just to better complete it lets change MCT to Comcar. They are a holding company that owns 4 carriers MCT being one of these, Comcar is based out of central Florida. Last I heard all 4 are hiring and several work the heck out of the southeast. In fact if I had it to do all over again I would be driving a tanker for their CTL division. I HIGHLY recommend at least calling and asking about these 4 carriers.
