If your not drinking alcohol and lots of it then there is no excuse for being in a strip club at a rats nest motel.lol

Here I am! :) Well he finished his 7 days training (no Pay) and I had to have some stuff faxed in regarding an accident that it wasn't his fault. He is good to go!! Was approved for hire Monday once they received what they needed. Yesterday he went out with a guy on the truck for 30 days. Going really well and getting a paycheck now! Which makes it really nice. Considering all though it went well. I will update if anything good or bad happens during the 30 days or after. I know you all think we are crazy but he really seems to like CR England. No company is perfect but considering his last job and how hard he worked for less than 1/2 of the money he really likes this. After his training I would love to go with him and team. BUT NO LEASE!!! HA> we really miss each other already! But feels a little better at least knowing he is being paid. That was SCARY there for while. Quit one job to take another and you are a week without pay. but it worked out ok.

Seems many quit while still in the first week but I am in management and that is pretty typical. Some were sent home because of background checks. They check 10 years back and most canadates are pretty young so that could be a problem if you were a wild child. ha. Well I hope I was able to provide a little insight.

    have a good day!

Yes he is with a good trainer. He really likes the guy. He said he is doing really well and the trainer couldn't believe he didn't have hardly any experience. so he is doing really good. I haven't heard from him much now that he is out on the road but I don't want him talking and driving so I am trying to maintain my composure. HA>> Pay is like 430 for the first 4 weeks and then after that he gets mileage with the leesing guy so that will be more like 500-600 per week so they say. Then he is out on his own and of coarse that will depend on how many miles he drives. thanks for you reply and YES> no leesing!! Happy thanksgiving!

I've read the horror reports myself and wanted to see it first hand myself. Just got my CDL A about a month ago. Needless to say that all it is is a piece of paper. Very few companies will hire you without OTR experience. I know their lease option is in their favor but I want to review it before I comment on it. I mainly chose this company to get 6-12 months OTR experience then I will go elsewhere. Are they truly any "driver friendly" companies out there????:biggrin_25515:

    jls,

Take my advice from person who is not a trucker. I would not do their lease period. I'd rather die than go through the horror some of the drivers have mentioned on here. Many companies like CRE will be like "you'll do good", but wait to you get behind on payments and go bankrupt. STAY Company. Have a good weekend.

CRE will take on any one with a turnover of +200% they need lots of bodys.
If you can keep your mouth shut and suck up to the co. you can make it there a year
There are driver friendly co out there , they are small , they cant hire drivers with out experance. insurance costs are to high , co like CER are self insured there for they can hire drivers with out exp and pay them less.

Many of the small company's require 3+ years experience for there insurance.
That is how the company I am with now is. Plus low tickets, no reckless driving ever, no DUI/ DWI ever.
So when they get an applicant that has all those bases covered they some of them will hire them, even if they were not looking.
That is what happened with my current company. There policy is that if a good qualified driver comes thru there door, they will not let them leave without an offer.
They bought another truck when they hired me. Low to non existent turnover. All equipment is paid for and very well maintained.

The companys are there, once you have experiance.
I would not look at CRE when I was looking, mostly due to the 2 months you are with trainers. I am there to make us both money, the company and myself. Not to make a broke lease OP money, or to run there truck for pennys on the dollar.

    Good luck.
