So I got a call from recruiter Adam Dillon. He was trying to persuade me to come to their paid orientation. I noticed they have a small terminal about 6 mins from me but feeling a lil skeptical about them right now. If anyone has any info on them will be happy to hear from ya before I make a mistake.

It's part of the Averitt family; Averitt Express, First Fleet, First Express.
First Express is the best of the three. I wouldn't even consider the other two.
I briefly worked for First Fleet & jumped ship.
The First Express drivers I talked to were doing pretty good and seemed content.RookieJ1987 and RubyEagle Thank this. -
First express is for drivers who need to check on their old lady once a week. If you live close to an Averitt express terminal then they can get you home on late Friday or Saturday and leave out on Sunday or Monday.
-
Firstexpress say they get you home on weekends. (They only want u do 34 hour reset). That may be true if you live in right area. But it seems I will have issues with hometime.
They park at Averitt express terminals and the closest one too me is 100 miles from where I stay. The load they gave me to get me home will get me to my Averitt terminal on Saturday morning, and to deliver load on time on Monday I need to leave the house Sunday night. -
First express only has short trips of less than 500 miles. They want you to deliver in morning and then they send you to pick up a load before shipper closes. Then you have to run like bat out hell to make delivery next morning. Most of their destinations are in Chicago area. So you run out of hours with no where yo break.

1 month at first express is too long. Man those people in Dispatch and Planning I feel sorry for them. The guy in charge is like Hitler. He monitors drivers non stop and if a driver sits to long he goes into dipatch and raises hell. He calls you into yard to ask you about why you stopped for so long on such and such date.
(Hey boss I had diarrhea and didnt want to make a mess in my pants.) -
The "Three Headed Snake", First Express/Averitt Express/First Fleet.
