The student armed robber was suspended for 10 days.
And he faces expulsion to a school for students with
discipline problems.
While the investigators are deciding whether to file
charges?!
Good GRIEF!
If he gets away with this NOW, what will he do tomorrow?

I agree with the expulsion and sending this student to a different school. I don't agree pressing charges against this kid. Don't get me wrong here, I don't condone what he did. If they press charges, it should be against the parents of this kid for letting him go to school with this knife. If I was a gambling man, I bet this child parents are not watching him at home. He is probably free to watch whatever he wants on tv, listen to whatever kind of music and uses the computer without any supervision.
As a society, we need to start holding the adults of these children responsible for there child's actions. Children don't sit in there bedroom alone and dream this stuff up. I'm getting tired of hearing things like this and the irresponsible adult who shaking there head not understanding why these things happen. Start sending all these parents to jail, maybe, just maybe adults will start watching there children.
Cybergal Thanks this. -
This is the type of things that our "gang environment" is breeding. I don't know about this particular case, but it would not be surprising if his mom is a crack ho, his older siblings are gang bangers, and his daddy, (if anyone knows who it is,) is in jail. This is the type of crap that is happening more and more. And it is NOT confined to the big city ghetto, anymore. . .

What happened to whopping your kids in butt? I want them days back! It's a #### shame that parents are not even raising their own kids!
-
That's what I would like to know...I sure got enough whoppings..
Double L Thanks this. -
So did I! Some of them could have been considered abuse as they did not involve just a hand on my butt.
-
Exactly I got whipped with a wooden yard stick on my bare behind and boy did that hurt! I don't care what ya say whippings is the best form of punishment. That time out crap doesn't work and is for those stuck up people who consider a slap on the butt as abuse!

Me too.YeAH, I think I agree.
I'd hate to see a salvageable kid have to deal with criminal charges in their future if they've changed their ways. And, I don't know the entire circumstances.
However, I DO think he should be held accountable for his actions, --- at least in SOME way. Maybe probation pending dismissal upon future behavior.
And even if he may not be COMPLETELY to blame, it oughta teach him that who he chooses to emulate will shape his future, or lack thereof.YuP!
I'm not big on gubmint agencies, but perhaps this is something Child Protective Services might want to take a peek at.
As for "letting" their kid go to school with a knife?
I'm not sure they "let" him. Maybe wern't aware. I'd need to know how and where the kid obtained the knife.
But if I strain my feeble brain, I think I can remember that by the time I was in first grade, I was already aware that knives were NOT to be played with and/or TOUCHED, --- but there was a with permission clause it the contract.
Pretty sure I signed it.
Indicating that I, the young AfterShock, would be charged with a preventable accident if I was caught in possession of a sharp object, or even a dull object. My folks even frowned upon rubber knives. What are the odds?
HeY!
You just described ME!
I'd go so far as to include the kids raising kids.
Shux Howdy!
When I read 17-year old single mom to a 3 year-old
INCERT GENDER HERE -----> X ......... child................
Well, ........ if you consider having color TV with DVD, movies, and probably a Play-Station with cut-throat "fun" games, and a computer to go who knows where, being "alone" --- ............ well, ........................ all I remember havin' are those INVISABLE friends.
And old B&W TV shows with MORALS to them.
By today's standards, corny, but none the less, those were my influences.
The Lone Ranger --- and Tonto
John Wyane
Roy Rogers & Dale Evens
The Andy Griffith Show &
Mayberry RFD
They used their influence to establish morals.
And did so without a lot of special effects.
But, and probably especially because, I watched them in B&W,
and had little trouble separating reality from fiction.
Now-a-daze, the images seem so real, I can only imagine how a kid
sees things.
You've described me AGAIN!
How you do dat?
I'm told I'm an adult, albeit "irresponsible" --- but without wife or child(ren) ---tellin' you that you ARE correct.
For I stand here, shaking my Shakey head.

Know what I think?
I think many of us DO understand why things happen.
It's whether we want to ADMIT it, ...... or not. Some will, some won't.
But I doubt they can properly watch their child(ren) while incarcerated.
But I wonder what would happen if the laws start charging sperm donors who impregnate minors, --- with the crime of rape? How 'bout they start lockin' THEM up?
For sure this is a disturbing happening.
At least for some it is, ---- and for others, no big thing. Just children being children.
And I'm not sure I'd disagree with either.
Could be children of children being children of THEIR children.
For all I know.
Might be necessary to know the modern day definition of "being children".
You see, ....... back in the day, children were SEEN,
and NOT heard.
Or, so I hear.
Doncha know.
Double L and rookietrucker Thank this. -
Could be. But I would not be surprised to find the parents were an attorney and a doctor. I had friends when younger that the parents gave them everything and still they wanted more and were the ones that always got in trouble.

Unfortunately what happened to it was the bleeding heart liberals, and other nut cases that could not tell the difference between discipline and child abuse got spanking outlawed. There are places in this country where you can go to jail for spanking your child. Now if that isn't a load of horse pucky, I don't know what is.
There is more good child psychology in the palm of the hand, than in all the child psychology books combined. Particularly when the palm of the hand is applied to the appropriate place, in the appropriate time and manner.
Yeah, I've got to agree with this. Unfortunately, with CPS you have so many kids that "slip through the cracks."
You say this like you no longer have these friends???
Of course, to hear Hollywood tell it, this type of stuff has absolutely NO influence on anybody. Right. . .
Oh yeah. There are always the parents who will try to buy their kids out of trouble. They try to buy their kids good behavior. They try to buy their kids respect.
But what they can't do, is spend time with their kids, and teach by example. But maybe they can buy somebody else to do that for them.
