Good afternoon drivers, ok, so i just got my first ever load shift... thankfully its just PVC piping! The problem is that ill need a shop to put it back together, now, this wasnt due to my stupidity. It was because the 2x2 that the shipper put in between were weak and snapped. Now does this count as out of pocket for me or can i get the shipper for this? Thanks in advance!

Run a strap from one side of the trailer, through the middle of the load, over the top, and back to the same side. Do the same on the other side. it won't go anywhere even with 3/4" pipe. Sometimes you can pull the shift back enough to get on down the road with the straps.

Out of pocket for you if you didn't notice it before you left. You sign for it and that's it. Not saying it's going to be easy to catch, or that you should have caught it (unrealistic in most cases), just that "I doubt it".

Nothing to lose by blaming the shipper.

True, but if the shipper routinely sends out loads that aren't set up right he's probably been through that routine before.
I think I'd just get the load straightened out and if I loaded there again I'd watch 'em like a hawk.

Make sure the end going to a ratchet is the one over the top and pulling agains the lean.

also a good idea, when you get to delivery, have a forklift on that before you release any straps holding the material.

Yes the shipper had been thru this before, even with their own drivers per loader.
This time i couldnt get it back to its original place since it was leaning really bad and a wrecker was needed.
And ther 2x2 breaking was en route so it didn't happen at the shippers, scared the hell outta me when i saw those large pipes leaning to my right lol

And flatbed sure is fun! But nothing beats windy conditions and tarping or tarping in the dead of desert summer!

Most big T/stops have a fork lift, a bit of cash put in the one that drives it out to look at your truck can get it fixed?
