TA in New Braunfels TX yesterday... a couple of piggyback chambers on the tractor, I didn't do them myself because the bands would've had to been cut on them (non-serviceable... no bolt clamp on the service side). Pretty simple job, right?

Four hours later, I pull out and go to hook to my trailer, pop the brake, the truck rolls away... no parking brake!

I immediately pull back over to the shop and the guy says pop the brake... then before I could say anything, he climbs under the truck, without placing wheel chocks, on a truck with no parking brakes!

So, as I'm hollering at him to get out from under the truck and that you can't adjust the brakes while I'm stepping on the pedal to keep from running his dumb ### over, he says "let go of the pedal..."

####s sake, I've never seen such retardation.

These days, you do this after the fact and just expect you're gonna be buying brakes and tires before you even look at it. By the time you get back to the seller to re-negotiate, that truck has seen 20 more buyers with cash in hand already. Then he'll laugh at you because it already sold for more than you agreed to in the first place.

I'm not diminishing the value of the thorough inspection, just pointing out in today's market you don't get the tire kicking time you may have had a year ago.
