I got a failure to stop for inspection station in MS, the fine is 1100.00 what Im most worried about is how it will affect my insurance. I have paid 400.00 to CDL Consultants to hire an attorney. Anyone have any experience with this?
First moving violation ever! Please help.

There's a case identical to yours on THE LAWFORUMS.com .go and have a read of the outcome there. Same State as your infraction. Goodluck
twina246 Thanks this. -
You ran the coup? LOL! Everyone has ran a coup before. Thing is, you got chased down. I ran one the first time I west on 70 past StLouis. But when I realized there was a coup, I stopped. The chase car caught me at the end of the on ramp. I had to get turned around and come back in, got dotted, but no fine because I stopped.
Lemme guess which coup it was...either one of them in Vicksburg or southbound 59 at the Lousyana line. Can't help you with the insurance question, but this would be one of hose times where I would call the courthouse and play the dumb truck driver card. Lots of time, they will throw it out if you cover the court cost.twina246 Thanks this. -
Same thing, I stopped and had to turn around but he gave me a ticket. This was on 59 going into AL. I went and read the response on the LAWforum, it was of no help and the thread is closed so you can't ask any questions on there. Anyone else have any information or suggestions?

I went back and read it again and the opinion of the retired judge is that there really is no defense for going past an open scale. Hope some how you can get it tossed .

Tell him you didn't see the sign because you spilled your beer and were texting your wife to get more beer.

You need to find out how many % of their drivers get let off in court, You are just lucky you were not driving in the 80s when drivers had to pay 3 or so bucks cash fuel tax every trip across MS. an rev. or dot cops shot at driver that ran by scales with pistols hung out window while in chase across LA. state line the only trouble DOT. got in was they kept shooting while driver was in LA. and did not return to MS. scale house before being seen by the LA. dot.

Being an officer of the Law (retained as a State Constable offered to state officers). I would just man up and take care of it. In the long run an attorney etc. cost more and hurts worse. DOT officers have up to date driving records in their cars or at least the ones I know do. A guilty plea would look alot better for you than found guilty if your record is pulled on future inspections etc.

Tell the court that the ramp was full and you didn't think it safe to stop in the roadway.
