215 W 95th st.
I'm suppose to pull onto 95th from Broadway (even though there is a no left turn sign). The construction crew will block traffic for me. I'm planning on coming in the city in the middle of the night and parking on south bound broadway until the crew gets there in the morning. It was planned for monday morning, but unfortunately the northeast is starting to shut travel plans down at the smallest sprinkle of snow so I'm stuck at a truckstop until this storm passes and the DOT lift the ban.
Anyways, talked to a guy who's been there before and he gave me directions in. I was studying the map and found a way I thought would be much easier, but I don't know. So I'm kinda looking for yalls opinion. Not that I don't trust the dude, but I just want to get all options and information I can.
His advice:
GWB to 87s
87s to X3
Cross the madison bridge then turn left on 5th
Take 5th to 125th
Turn right on 125th
Follow to broadway and make a left onto broadway
What I was thinking:
GWB to X2
Follow to Amsterdam
Turn left onto amsterdam
Then turn right on 155th/145th/135th/??
Then left on broadway.
178th exit is closed but it points to Amsterdam as the truck detour. However I don't know which roads I am allowed to take to jump over to broadway.
Any tips appreciated!
First time to NYC Manhattan. Any tips?

Guess it’s to late to say no thanks on the load.

You’re saying gwb to exit 2 on 95 then work your way down?
That’s a lot more uptown traffic and time.
Could you? Yea. I wouldn’t. Doesn’t add anything but more stop n go.
95th is an eastbound one way street.. the address you have comes up as the housing project building on the corner.
Lot of places on broadway there isn’t room to park on the street for hours without getting a ticket.
If you go your buddy’s route, last I recall that right on 125th I had to swing pretty wide... I might have been wide myself tho?
You’re not gonna be in the tourist section of town. Or the pretty section.Dino soar, Broke Down 69, brian991219 and 5 others Thank this. -
Be in & stay in the far right lane on the GWB, take the exit at the end of the bridge before you go under the apartments. That’s 178th street. Turn right on Broadway, follow to 95th. Out same as in.
Go in before 5:30 am and don’t worry about traffic. Between 5:30-6 a little bit coming into the tolls. Maybe 5-10 tops.
go in after 6am...you’re screwed because of trafficTruckermania Thanks this. -
178th exit is closed til the summer on the signs I saw. Why would you want to run all that uptown traffic light traffic?brian991219, Woodys and stwik Thank this. -
If I come down amsterdam what is the best road to skip over to broadway? Not saying I'm going to use X2, but I might. Not too worried about the extra time it would take as it's my first time in.
Thx!
Edit: Which route would you suggest?Last edited: Mar 4, 2019

Idk if there’s blackout times for tickets: I can’t tell you a good block that far north to park at. I’d cross over further north where possible, somewhere uptown there’s a rail crossing above that’s low: the one you come under on Broadway is tall enough, might want to keep right on it, right lanes are taller there. How tall are you gonna be?brian991219 and Woodys Thank this. -
I go to Jacob Javitz all the time. Going in the middle of the night is the only way to go. If coming north from jersey the way I always go is first exit after the toll. Bottom of ramp turn right onto broadway.
If coming south from ct. Take Amsterdam ride it till it intersects with broadway.
In the middle of night you can make a uturn on Broadway. Never got a ticket for overnight parking. Have gotten tickets for parking in no parking zone. But that is standard at the convention center. I usually put Last week's ticket on windshield. Sometimes i get another one and sometimes i dont.McCauley Thanks this. -
I'm thinking 155th looks like a perfect road to jump from amsterdam to broadway.Ruthless Thanks this. -
