This is true and not one owner has been able to pass me yet with their old beaters. They see my slowly passing at 68 while they are doing 65 in a 70. They try to punch it when we are aligned and I leave them in four seconds and they are confused since they thought their loud tricked out Peterbilt was the fastest. My 2019 dd15 505hp dt12 accelerates like a Corvette. It hits 90 before they can shift gears. Then I slow back down to 68 and they remain behind me in shame.

Ive noticed since elogs came about, alot more trucks going 72 to 75 in a 70. Before elogs i could set my cruise at 70 and only get passed a handful of times in a hundred mile stretch. Now i get passed a handful of times in a 30 mile stretch. Most of the time these guys passing me dont use blinkers and are very impatient when they have to slow down for someone else trying to pass. Even if they are going the speed limit. Lord help me if they see a bear though, then they slow down 2mph below the limit and clog things up till the bear is gone.

I've also noticed larger fleets running around 70-72 now that use to be governed at sloth speed since the elog mandate.

I have the only ungoverend glider in our fleet of 50 trucks... Fleets Governed at 68 .

I complained to the shop that I had a vibration at 70 mph. They quickly replied How could that be? The truck is governed at 68.

Um quickly I replied I was coasting down a mountain

The speed to quickly pass or accelerate to blend back into traffic after getting over for a police car is a Huge Safety factor.

Gotta be careful though my Detroit is turning 1500 at 70 mph so it is right in the optimum power band. If you don't have the cruise set it is way easy to be doing 80 like nothing.

My cruise is still governed at 68 so if I am running late and I am in a 70 mph zone I gotta drive on the pedal , but I try to avoid it as I tend to speed too much off it.

Oh and you drivers who Think you can talk on the phone or eat your Hoagie sub and maintain a constant posted speed .

News. Your Wrong. Set your Dumb Cruise. And if you see me passing you while you are all over the road eating your hoagie. Let me pass.

My drag racing days are over and I certainly don't want to relive them in a big semi with a line of pissed off 4 wheelers behind me.

My favorite thing to do In my 379 is pass a slow moving vehicle and when they see what I’m doing and try to speed up, I put the hammer down hard, get in front of them and Jake brake back down to the speed limit. My way of saying stop playing with your god dam cell phone

Swift, Knight, Werner, England. I thought they raised their governed speed? My truck is governed at 67 pedal or cruise. I always come up behind them and they’are doing 57-59 in Az or Utah or Wherever. I don’t understand. If the speed limit is 70-75 and your truck can go 64 why are you going 57? Don’t you want to be 60-70 miles farther down the road?

My truck tops out at about 82 or 83. What is a governor? Anyhow, I don’t take my truck over 65 anyway. It’s bad on your tears in long term and you just pissing money out window on fuel if you an owner operator

England has variables it seems. While you'll occasionally encouter a turtle. Most seem to be at 68 but there's been some that seem to be 72.

They've all certainly stepped up their speed since the mandate.

My truck is governed at 72. GPS puts it at 74. They don't go much slower then me anymore. Used to be able to blow their doors off.
