First Trip on the Houston to Edmonton Run

Be nice if the wind ever stops blowing.Im on the southbound leg.Decided not to try the MTN 3 over to Billings tonight. 60 mph gusts but it's supposed to ease up tonight.
It took me 5 days to do the northbound leg,dodging the high winds and running through the snow.
1 breakdown in North Platte,belt tensioner was wore out.It shredded one of the belts.
15 minutes and $670 later I was back on the road.
I stopped at the flying j in Nanton last night.Took off this morning at daylight,southbound on A2.Within the first 40 miles there were 4 trucks laying in the median on their sides.It must have been a rough night on the A2.

 

Thanks,I'll go that way next trip.Its almost always windy south of Nanton,It's a very nice drive through Nanton when the wind isn't bad.

 

Our teams can run it in 48 hours each way,,about 2100 miles.Thats with 2019 Cascadias running 65 mph.They don't climb a hill very good.We are not on interstates all the way so that slows us down a little too.

 

I saw Mercer trucks all summer in Alaska,sometimes 2 or 3 together.They usaully took a break or reset at the Safeway in North Pole.And parked at Santa Claus house.

 

Just pulled into the Pilot in Amarillo,Windy all the way from Wheatland Wyoming to Oklahoma. It's windy here too,
I'm getting a little over 600 miles a day.1 more day I'll be home .

 

Back in Houston,5 days up,1 day in Edmonton,4 days back.4921 miles.
Bad weather most of the trip,1 breakdown- tensioner and belt replaced.

 

On trip #2,Off four 4 days in Houston.Im in Colorado tonight,the weather's been much nicer so far.I take 287 from I 45 south of Dallas ,all the way to Denver.
I'm not recruiting but they need some drivers if anyone is looking.Good company with good equipment.
