I think you could do better if you were not set a 387 Peterbilt. I think some other members will agree. If your heart is set, I would look to see if this model has a DPF on it. If so, find out if it has a warranty.

EGR Coolers turbos and EGR valves alot of troubles with these items why do you think it is on a sales lot with less than 700K? Oh, and do not forget DPF problems a friend of mine has three 387s like that with the ISX nothing but problems he was so disqusted this week he went and bought a 1985 cabover peterbilt with a big cam cummins in it

by west coast im guessing you will be in and out of cali?
if so he may want the DPF for comfort reasons but i think the price is high for an 08 with that many miles and as for the 387, they lack storage and the sleeper is nothing to get excited about
personally i would look at T600 with a studio or a volvo 780 or 730
and the 3:36 rears will not do as good in the mountains as 3:42 or 3:55The Challenger Thanks this. -
An 08 truck is probably an 07 emissions engine. The worst of the worst. I've got one . You can keep it running but it's a constant battle. An 06 or 07 model year is the way to go . Screw Cali .Good luck what ever you decide .
JRTBud87 Thanks this. -
thanks for the info im not set on the 387 this truck had alot of records that is one of the main reasons in was in the running i am going to spend alot of time in cali and read that in jan. 2014 all trucks had to have dpf for that state whats a good starter truck in the 40k 50k range i plan to keep it about 3yrs or so
