Yeah im not upset that I dont work for them, just upset I was unjustly terminated. Even from my first day the place seemed questionable. People, including the boss, smoking cigarettes in the warehouse where there were acetylene torches and who knows what else lying around. Most of the guys not wearing hard hates with tons of metal stacked above them. People zipping around too fast on the forklifts. Clearly they dont care about OSHA regulations which means they dont care about the bottom line.

The 2 paydays I was there I walked with a few of the guys to the check cashing and as soon as they set foot out of the navy yard they sparked a blunt. I turned down the offer of a puff because if I happen to run someone over one day my blood will likely be tested and I dont want that trouble.

I have absolutely no personal problem with weed, but I dont want to be working in a dangerous environment with guys im sure are high at work too.

I know im way too proffesional for a place like that. I actually signed up for the sanitation test coming up this morning.

Now I have the accident reports for my re ords, 2 of which indicate the incident was not my fault, and added that place to me resume.

But I just realized that job did not require a CDL. Am I still obligated by law to include it in my resume since it was not a commercial driving position?

Yes the one that was your fault is apart of your driving record, you will have to list it

Do I have to put the employer on my resume? Does the driving name them?

You should stop trying to live and work locally up there along the Cross Bronx. If anything is going to happen at all it will be right along there. And I am a OTR who learned trucking doing nothing but your area from Baltimore. Ive had a thousand incidents along there....

Buy a dash cam put the #### thing in your next truck or car and use it always. A moment of video takes care of the he said she said and firings potentially.

Remember who loaded your truck. Keep his or her names in mind when making deliveries. Anything OSD (Over short or damage) should have a dedicated clerk in your company structure takes the information, ask you questions and collects the data necessary to process the OSD problem. It's hardly a firing issue unless you are that flatbed trucker who gave away 20K in plywood in florida recently. (He got fired, but nothing to prosecute....)

Your description of the talking with Owner etc about these problems indicate you were already headed towards a dismissal anyway. These things do happen and when a bad apple stinks up the barrel, it's bye bye.

I don't know what else to say, in my time mirriors were 25 dollars give or take a buck. These days they can potentially contain video cameras now and be thousands of dollars possibly.

A box truck isnt that big, you should be able to get into places the big rigs cannot without smashing up stuff. And take it easy, slow down in traffic up there. The people get riled up and aggressive next thing you see everyone around is now being aggressive, YOU slow the heck down pronto because something is about to go smash up. You watch..... Just don't be the first one hit.

Next time mr. Big Brake forces a stop like you described where you got rearended... get his tag number FIRST before anything. Write it down. Then whatever he or she does does not matter because the Law will want to talk to him or her.

A dash cam of good quality will do that for you.

You will outlive us all and still drive a truck. But I suggest you consider moving out of that area and live elsewhere in the USA where half the stress and traffic you see up there on the Cross Bronx simply does not exist elsewhere. You might even gain some weight living quietly and slower enjoying your work away from there.

Thanks. If its got the info one needs, then it's worth it. (especially with timeless facts and well written posts) Google searches all years. I'm also still learning how to write, so I'm less shy about it going unnoticed.
