First Writeup in trucking (falsifying logs)

NEVER sign anything. seems most likely this problem will continue, are they worth the hassle? I'd leave personally

I wouldn't sign anything! Especially since it appears that this was a glitch with your eld. It showed you driving when you were driving. Tell them your aunt is an attorney and she advised you not to sign anything

 

Peoplenet is complete garbage. Always glitchy, always restarting on its own or freezing and not recording. It wouldn't surprise me at all for it to have F'ed up your logs.

And since I already know Peoplenet is on this forum- this is for them.

Your product sucks. It is the least intuitive ELD I have ever used. Speedgauge is inaccurate and outdated and has surely cost some drivers some unwarranted discipline or worse. Prompts pop up on the touch screen while you are typing on it, and since your finger is already on the screen- you just told whatever that prompt box that randomly popped up to do something, and you don't even know what.

Have to hit the brakes at night? What better during a time of evasive action than to have a huge, bright "sudden deceleration" warning pop up on the screen blinding you during a crucial maneuver. Brilliant.

Your junk ELD routinely restarts and takes forever, leaving unlogged time, which makes us illegal.

It would be better to log with an etch-a-sketch. Get a clue...

 

Hope y'all had a great 4th~! Guess I'm glad I've got Qualcomm. Was comfy with paper until that dang last December mandate. Oh, well`!

 

My understanding from PeooleNet and my ELD admin. is that this is a known issue with the Windows CE based units and not the Android based units. I have had both units in the last year and the Android worked fine but I've had the Windows CE based unit since March and it's brutal.

I have the same problem that the OP was experiencing and it happens almost every day. My admin is having to correct my logs on an every day or every other day basis.

PeooleNet says they know it is an issue and that it is a firmware problem that will require an update to remedy the situation but they cannot provide an ETA or some sort of timeline to get this fixed.

If they don't fix it soon eventually I am going to get in trouble with DOT somewhere. That will be fun.

 

It's 'THESE' little things, that actually make me 'grateful' for my Qualcomm. Sheesh..

 

Unless one has the cell phone version of qualcomm. I'm having an issue that when the drive times out, it will ask if it's ok. It stays on that screen instead of auto switching to on duty.

 

Just the big, thick, fat tablet here, man. Guess I'm blessed; took me 3 months to 'really' get it, tbh~!

 

Out of the ones that I have used in my trucks the Omnitracs worked the best but I couldn't get a better deal when my contract expired!
