This truck was registered as an 07, had a 475hp C15 ACCERT,.. and caused me more grief with DPF and regen issues then any other truck I know of.

Upper sensor, lower sensor, Filter too clogged to burn off, ARD head failure, new DPF filter, EGR failure, Throw out bearing seized on the transmission input shaft not once but twice, broke drive axle while pulling into a driveway,.. a simple pop,.. and nodda,.. had to lock in the rears to move the truck, Rinse and repeat,.. same issues over and over.

And its not like the truck had 600k - 800k miles on it. It spent more time in the shop then on the road.

Please do not buy this truck....... The emissions system is crap and is not designed for the faint of heart or light of wallet.........

Hurst , I'll bad mouth the SDP all day long ....

But the throw out bearing , axle breaking is irrelevant to the SDP POS......

That was just for the truck in general. I stated the truck itself was a lemon. Much much more I can add that it was in the shop for. I gained 25 lbs from all the pizza and chinese food I ordered while stuck in hotel rooms.

To be fair,.. this was the only DPF equipped truck I drove that had so many problems with the DPF system. The 08 KW T660 was actually fairly reliable. In 12 months that I drove it, it was only in the shop twice for regen issues. ARD head both times. From a drivers perspective I loved the 386 more. But to be the owner of that truck dealing with all the issues it had,.. no way. I am much happier with my current hoopty.

Being known for having the NICEST LOOKING truck always sitting in shop is not a real ego booster

Maxforce & ISX engines were called the death of owner operators by the President of J.B. Hunt, I drove a ISX last year and it died on 5% grades twice, had to do with the egr cooler and fuel filter being clogged.... The cheap alluring prices should be sign enough to stay away...

I dont have a lot of experience with the ISX, but the one I got to drive for 2 months was fantastic. Was an 08 475hp ISX in an 08 KW T660. Ran reefer coast to coast from Londonderry NH to Oakland Ca and back. Donner was no trouble at all.

I guess its just like anything else,.. you have your good ones and your bad ones. My carrier here has a couple Pete 386 doing heavy haul pulling RGN's and they have been good trucks. Thats why I gave my thumbs up for the Cummins. But you are not the first person where I read they had a lot of problems with the ISX.

I guess just stick with pre-emissions. I dunno. I've been very lucky with my Columbia. Knock on would and try to be as humble as I can. Hope my next truck will be as reliable.

Wow tons of good info here guys thank you so much. It does explain the large amount of 2008-2011 low-priced trucks on the market today. When you start looking at >2007 prices are higher so there is an obvious reason. Now with the mini recession in TX due to the oil's drop in price, I may hold off see if the prices drop a bit on 07 Pete's. They tell me this is high-season now to buy trucks because a bunch of people cash their tax refunds to double down on a truck, so I'm fighting a seller's game now with the dealers. What is your take on that?
