What’s up w/manifold bolts my old 2000 still orig bolts over 2 mil on bull gear overhaul 10 yrs ago $13k These gliders are barely worth a little savings Better build your own Warranty’s? That’s a joke anything will stay together for a while they take their chances on cheap parts Im guessing.Too much hype . I gotta hand it to them no Dummies there. They must be so rich by now.
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Been hearing Fitzgerald is winding down operations. There are claims out there saying no new sales and only builds happening are the last of previous orders.
On the other hand, don't fret for Tommy, he's invested all that money in other businesses.
But then there's the $70m he apparently owes the IRS.
Fitzgerald jobs in jeopardy as company waits for rulingTerry270 and Oldironfan Thank this. -
Oh the problems success brings.

Facts are they have poor quality checks, and install wrong parts.
Also use mostly aftermarket parts, like PAI.
Warranty can be done by freightliner but they need to wait for Fitz parts to be sent out. Not allowed to stock fitz parts.
Talked to a guy that still works part time at fitz as a private consultant for undiagnosed issue that fitz can't figure out. -

Can someone tell what aftermarket kit Fitz used?

I once got my series 60 ddec4 rebuild done at freightliner dealer in Ontario. Did Bullgear, counterbore, reman head, injectors, turbo, oil cooler, fuel pump pretty much everything except same cam and crank with all OE parts of course. The very first trip bullgear went bad. It made sound that I and dealership could tell something is wrong in gear case. 3 months down the road 2 injectors leaked fuel. Truck failed emission as we in Ontario have heavy diesel emission testing. Freightliner dealership took care of it in warranty. But the motor never ran as original even after 350000kms on it. I could always smell fuel in exhaust. That truck got totaled and never bothered buying back from insurance since I was not happy with the motor anyway.
Now the new story is that I've got another series 60 ddec4 that I'm getting the inframe done at local shop in Toronto. Mechanic suggested to use FP diesel kit by Federal Mogul. If someone has first hand experience with these kits? ThxRideandrepair Thanks this.
