OWNERS of these trucks please give me some info.
I am seriously contemplating buying a mid-roof from Fitzgerald. I already know all the specifics and what I would like to know is:
How has repairs been handled thru the warranty and any issues with getting them fixed?
How is you actual real world MPG?
Do you like the truck and do you have ANY gripes about something that should have been done differently?
And lastly, would you suggest buying one??
Fitzgerald Glider Owners, I have a few questions....

Don't trust a lot of what gets said over on that site John listed. Not to discredit your effort John, but that site has turned into a bunch of mud slinging and idiots. I for one refuse to post anymore and very seldom check it out (once a week maybe compared to daily on here).

I was joined to that site for no less than 1 hour and I already have recieved 3 PM's wanting to sell me some Rutherford do-dad that will get me better MPG. One guy was hacking new tire valve caps LOL!!!
I figured that with my empty tanker moves, i should be able to net 8mpg if not more. At 8mpg 9compared to my 6.5mpg average now) the truck will pay the idfference and I will actually make an extra $300 a week.
Either a new glider or a new Mack -
SHC, did you ever get Mr Haney (or anyone) to tune that ECM? I run quite a bit heavier than you most of the time pulling a flatbed with a 3406E putting out roughly 650-675, and I'm getting the same kind of fuel mileage as you.

I like the idea of a glider but not interested in FL. But KW/Pete seem to want to stay away from this. Found one company doing Pete's but it was well over a year from order to delivery. And I think they would buy the rig complete and sell the motor.
Talking with my KW salesman about this and he told me that it was hard to resell gliders. Hmm, I guess when you are a salesman that doesn't have a new one to sell then it is hard to resell them. But in my world, and newer truck with pre-egr is worth more.SHC Thanks this. -
I don't see the big difference between Pete/KW when it is spec'd out the way you want it and order it the way you want. if it was aused truck, then yes because most FL are all ex-fleet trucks. But I can spec a new Coronado out the same as a PACCAR just not as fancy, but at about $35k less. -
Don't get me wrong, he is a master at what he does and I wish I had the extra $800 to toss around and 5 days to shut down, but I just don't.
