Okay, I'm a total noob so bare with me here. I went to the dmv today and took the three necessary tests to get a CDL permit: general knowledge, air brakes, and combinations. Passed all three no problems. But when I got home I noticed that my temperary permit under the section saying "Endorsements" is blank. Shouldn't air brake and combinations be listed there? Or are they not considered endorsements?

you're all set.
endorsements are for tanker, doubles/triples/hazmat/passengerTruckerRobbie Thanks this. -
Nope. Endorsements are for if/when you get tanker, hazmat, doubles/triples. If you have passenger motorcycle etc it would show there as well.
Airbreaks, if you passed, just shows in the system that you passed.TruckerRobbie Thanks this. -
Panama City is a good location for trucking.
What's your plan, private school or trucking company school? -
As of now the than is to go the company sponsored route, through PAM. But from my reading around the forum you're like the goto guy for advice on this sort of thing. What would you suggest based on my location?
-
Which school will you attend?
CTL Transportation and MCT Transportation use the same schools as PAM. -
This is gonna make me seem kinds stupid, but I actually haven't even asked my recruiter at Pam the name of the school or anything. That's probably something we should talk about. I really am a noob haha

Sometimes PAM ships you to another state for C-1 Truck Driver Training School. Unless something has changed recently, CTL Transportation and MCT Transportation use that school also.
MCT has their own school in Sioux Falls, SD
PAM is ok to get started in trucking, but the weekly pay isn't too good from the many posts on here about it.
Shop around and see what's out there to choose from:
MCT Transportation
CTL Transportation will be the best pay weekly. They run lots of I-10 to Texas chemical plants.
Jim Palmer Trucking - nicest trucks set up for driver comfort. Coast to coast running.
Southern Refrigerated Transport - run lots of West Coast runs. Run teams until training completed then have a choice of teams or solo.TruckerRobbie Thanks this. -
I had put in an application with them and when I spoke to the recruiter they told me they no longer had a school and didn't offer company sponsored training
-
Haven't heard about that.
