If someone flashing their beams at you wrecks your night vision, you should probably be parked by sundown.

I've seen a number of drivers claiming this, and I'd be willing to bet lefty or righty that a large portion of them are the corks that drive with their highbeams on down the interstate.

Anyways, not to get off topic. I always take someone flashing me over as an indication that I have cleared their personal comfort cushion of reaction time. Sometimes I get over when I am flashed, sometimes I go a bit further. Sometimes I cover over before I get the flash. Sometimes I dim my lights, sometimes I flash them. I don't have a headlight interrupt so generally I only dim them when in fog/rain/snow. If they are blowing my doors off I don't bother, they know they're past me :p

I don't mind either way, I adjust my mirrors at night so that lights behind me don't go directly into my eyes. So many owner ops and lease ops now have those ridiculous LED light bars where fog lights would go, and those things should be outright illegal. I had a guy follow me for 240 some odd miles with them about a month ago, and he would NOT pass me. I pulled over for my 30 at a loves, and the dude pulled in with me. I got out and talked to him about the light bar, and he told me to take a walk. I took his truck numbers instead, and called the state police. Turns out his bar was posted at an illegal height and I got the distinct pleasure of passive him pulled over with Mr. Officer behind him, trying to uninstall them.

This is sort of an Aside, but no matter what any of us do there are going to be people who take it the wrong way, because drivers are contrary (antisocial in a LOT of cases). Do what you think is right and roll on, if you don't want to flash don't. If you do, do. If someone doesn't like it they'll get over it most likely.

14 pages started in 2012... I'll ad my 2 cents too

I always wait for a flash at night before getting over, I want you comfortable with the distance... Not my prediction of acceptable for you. That is my curtsey to you. If you choose not too take your hand out of the chip bag for a second and reach the incredible 1-12" distance these mfg's have put the switch at, I'll understand, your retarded by your fatness, and its okay my lazy friends.

But my tolerance only goes so far, if I'm tailing a slower truck that I needed to allow out from behind you and he gives the same courtesy of waiting for you to flash, and you don't, I'm coming over too and praying you got an auto cruise brake that will wake you up.
(NOTICE: I have never harmed any fat, lazy, and/or retarded person in this process)

The only flashing I want to see is from drunk sorority girls in the passenger seat.

Led high beams can be 1000+ lumens and the sun is 10000.
