So you’re hiring your own drivers? Gonna need a lot more info before we can tell you what kind of pay would be acceptable. How many miles? Type of trailer? Company drivers or O/Os? Home time? Benefits? And on, and on, and on...

roshea and T W Thank this.

Percentage has always worked for me, especially on the high dollar loads!!

But then, if your loads don't pay but crap, then your % is................crap.

Understandable, I like flat fee per load, that way the driver doesn't have to calculate his or her pay.

Have to be careful with that also, guys around Phoenix who work for Ruan hauling garbage from Phoenix to the landfill 40 mile West get paid a flat fee per load.

    They also drive like lunatics!!

    O/
O/O, small fleets. We do invoicing, factoring, book keeping and more. Weekly, monthly and fleet rates. Constant work. Its tree season, so I just want to make the holidays well paid for us and our families. No attitudes, confrontations, just making sure you get what you deserve.

As an O/O, I would never agree to a flat fee for any length of time unless it was just too good to pass up. There’s too much money to be made in the spot market to restrict my options like that. I’ve run trees a few times in the last few holiday seasons so I know how well they can pay when it gets close to Christmas time.

Also, I became an O/O in the first place for the freedom it allows me, so forced dispatch isn’t appealing to me at all. Again though, money talks...

    Fixed it for you:)

If you’re not being paid miles, mile don’t matter. Time does.

Op, what is a mormal shift, or run? Are you talking local or otr? If more than local how many nights out?

Percentage hmmm...Loaded both ways or just one?
