I have to agree, I was in dunkin doughnuts in Connecticut and got a medium coffee not a Large, a medium coffee. It was like $2.89. I took a sip and had the girl make a fresh cup man. It was cold, the girl says oh yeah we had the burner off for a little just give it some time to warm back up??? I figure for a $3 cup of coffee it should stay warm all night.

Let the regular flat guys have those loads. Big blocks of rock, huge steel ingot, lumber, bentonite super sacks. If I have a choice,.. I'll pass.
I personally prefer the versatility of the step. I carry enough gear to do just about anything a regular flat can do, plus I can load my own equipment and vehicles. It has to be a specific load or like you say,.. heavy,.. for me not to be able to take it.

I personally like step cause I think it is very versatile but I noticed on load boards not many loads for step only... I really want to haul like machinery and such like tractors... I know on flatbed you can't really haul that stuff... That's why I am confused on what to do... Step or flat...

Flats = commodities like lumber, pipe, steel
Steps = finished products like machinery...a.k.a "paint" -
I want to stay in north east just trying to figure out what is my best move to stay ahead of the game and the mArket. To make money whether step or flat. I did flat bed for a month and was hauling wood and lots of buiding materials and metals. Step I mean is there a good market I like over size loads as well I know with step that is possible... I just like the challenge of over size

Here are some pics. Hopefully these will help you make your decision easier. None of these loads can be done on a regular flat.
None of these loads were step specific,.. but unless you had an RGN,.. most could not be done on a regular flat. Recognize a brokers effort to deflate the necessity for the equipment that you have and he needs to pay for.
