I see a lot of flatbed companies (TMC, PGT, Maverick, etc) require you to be 23 years or older. Any reason for that? Insurance maybe? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Yeah that does suck, I really want to do flatbed after schooling. Guess I'll be bumping docks till I turn 23.

I hear ya. Im pre-hired with Roehl, but flatbeding with them doesnt come into Florida very often. So I figured i'd put in a fews years then try to get with their Flatbed division. I plan on relocating to a better region for whatever company i work for or plan on working for.123456 Thanks this. -
we have a flat bed devision and they only require you to be 21....

How do you like working for Watkins & Shepard? I haven't applied for them yet, I got some advice to get as many pre-hires I could. No matter who I go with I know not to burn any bridges in case I need to cross them later. -
I like it here, they keep us moving and dont have the micromanageing BS rules and whatever that the Big Companies have. Its very simple here. Heres a truck, theres a trailer, take it here....the rest is on you to do your way.

Thats good, I'm looking for a company that will allow me to stay out 2-3 months at a time. I would love to make 3,000 miles per week. Although I know I have to pay my dues as everyone else has. -
everyone will let you stay out that long, companys dream of haveing drivers like us that stay out that long lol. Most guys dont wanna stay out more then 2 or 3 weeks.

I understand most guys have families, but for me, I love being out on the road. I believe thats why Covenant was trying to recruit me so bad, because i want to stay out long and they would want me to stay out so long. I turned them down for certain reasons though. I just love driving, I bought my car in February of this year and from then to now I've put 23,XXX miles on it. so 23,XXX miles in six months or so in a 4-wheeler is a lot I suppose, since I never left the state. I just love driving.
