You are in the flat bed capital of the south. Most of these should train you and be home weekends to.

That would definitely be my choice too if I was in his shoes. But with only 6 months experience finding a small company that can get him insured will be tough.

    shogun Thanks this.

No it won’t, insurance companies insurance inexperienced drivers all the time. Half the dump truck companies around have new drivers every week. It can be done no problem

I just renewed my insurance. Got quotes from 6 different insurance companies, all required at least 1 yr experience. I'm not saying it can't be done. Just saying all the insurance I have had in the last 30 yrs have required at least 1 yr experience. I know people on here get insurance with a new CDL, for 30k a yr. Most small fleets are not going to pay that kind of rate.

Most companies that hire with less than a year are self insured.

My auto liability/ general liability/ cargo liability/ umbrella policy insurance didn’t change at all to add a driver(s). The premium only changes if I add Or subtract equipment or change coverage amounts/values. Driver’s are either “covered” by my policy or “not covered” which does have to do with length of CDL status, but more so the accident or ticket record on file.

Just for informational purposes, y’all’s mileage may vary.

D Mosley is a good company. Home almost every weekend. Above average pay. New equipment coming in every week. 60k-65k for new drivers.

Hornady trucks go 70mph. I know because one tried to pass me and couldn’t. They have decent equipment (newer trucks). If you like beige and brown color scheme... try Hornady!
