Saw this along the 680 in California earlier today heading towards the weigh station.
I could see a lot of smoke from a distance.

At this point it could easily be surmised that the flaming flatbed was parked along the easement leading into the stupid station.

The fire in this picture looks closer than it actually is. I'm actually a lane and a half away from the stupid station conflagration, but could easily feel the heat from the flames.

This flat bed was hauling what looked to be plywood wrapped in plastic, and only the forward-most stack was ablaze.

Dunno how this load caught fire. Ike Stephens might call this flatbedder the Bonehead trucker of the week, but I call him a hero for taking one for the team by shutting down a stupid station.

I hope he doesn't lose his job.

IF the driver smokes this could be a source of the fire.
Throwing cigarette butts out the window is hazardous.
I know a driver did that while pulling a load. He would put the cigarette out in the ashtray and throw the filter out the window. So the ashtray wouldn't fill up with butts. Well one day!
The butt melted into the plastic wrap on the front of the load. It smoldered and started a fire. He seen the fire starting. Stopped and put it out with the extinguisher. Because of his quick action there was only minor damage to the load.

I do hope the driver is ok.
    Who has the marshmallows?
