Im new to the o/o flatbed business and was looking for some input whether my numbers are going in the right (or wrong) direction...
I live in florida and run the SE. I leased onto a company that pays percentage and offers fuel for 1.99. Looks like an average on 2800 miles will come in at 1.00 to 1.05 per mile. My truck gets about 6mpg so i figure my fuel will cost .33 per mile.
So after fuel i will get approx .70 mile, so i will gross about 2000 after fuel. My truck is paid for but i will budget for eventual replacement, maintenance, and ins/permits.
Im feeling that my numbers are not very good but would appreciate some advice?? Thx
Flatbed percentage ?/advice

New Line flatbed ? They had a deal like that a while back. I could not run a truck for 70 cpm after fuel, and make a decent living.

Owning the truck is a huge help but there are other expenses besides fuel. I think that .70/mile after all other expenses could become .45mile net really fast.

ya, its newline and thats kinda what im thinking bout really being 45cents. what companys look out for the drivers?

At .70 a mile you would be way ahead as a company driver, add repairs, reg maintenence and health insurance and you're already in the red
I pay my truck a min of $1 per mile -
And you think being an O/O is a much better deal with a dog of a truck? Sorry I may be misunderstanding. Nothing against old iron if it's good iron. Junk will only make your problems worse. As will running a good old truck in the ground

I run short haul flatbed home every night as a driver getting % and the drivers in our little company earn about .60per mile if you figure it that way.
