I dont see many new companies pullin out of Des Moines and Ottumwa. Moline every once and a while but its mostly the usuals in there. TMC doesn't do a whole lot out of the construction machine plants, we stick to AG for the most part.

What's scary is here in Thailand, I have seen over the years, trucks moving small to mid size exc. on large straight trks. or trls. with no chains binders or even bundge cords...
They just drive them up to the neck and set the bucket on the deck and off they go.
Earlier this week we took a trip to Hua Hin, beach resort south of the house about 2 hours. Was coming into a curve and was getting ready to pass a trk.
Then I slow down, my wife is why are you slowing down. Look I said.
Here is this truck hauling big bags filled with sand or what ever. No straps or nothing holding it down. Just weight.
Then coming back there was a trk/ trl. hauling pallets of mid size cans all wrapped in clear plastic. Then a top tarp with bungess holding down the tarp. The tarp was holding the load down. No other tie down..
So be happy in the states at least they are doing some if little tie down..

Thailand is a third world country, you expect things like that to happen in places like that.

Third world in some ways yes. We do have 2 indoor toliets here at the house, Sat. TV and internet. HaHa

Also more and more of the trks. here are running on natural compressed gas..
The range though is only about 300 km. But there are many places to refuel at. Full service staions, even for the diesel and gas pumps.

Funny thing is even the new trks. are still running tube type tires and the old style inner and outer lug nuts.

Both of those are archaic methods>maybe you need to show them a calendar and let them know it's 2013, not 1913....

actually their calander year here is 2556.. Don't ask I have never gotten a straight answer on that.

They also us the standard year now of 2013 in most legal forms for international records, but for Thailand only the current year is 2556..

Reminds me of Iraq, a loader in the back of a dump truck was normal. Still cant figure out how they loaded and unloaded it though. Lol that would have been a sight to see with those clowns though.
