    What is the best engine, tranny, and rear end combination for flatbed running 48 states? I will be hauling just about everything from coils to lumber. What make engine do you guys and gals prefer? Thanks.

    big bore cat (3406e or c-15...even better a c-16...)13 or even an 18spd and 3.55 or 3.36 rears

    i run a 3406e, 13spd with 3.55 rears and do just fine

    normally 6.5 to 7......as high as 7.5 or as low as 5.5 at times...depends whats on the deck, what it wieghs and where im driving thru
