Does anyone know if they make a strap lock for flatbeds?
example:
i want to park my empty trailer at a truck stop and I don't want to remove my straps off the trailer. I am afraid if I don't they will be stolen. Do they make strap locks?

It would be easy to make one. Piece of rod that goes through the hole that you put your winch bar in. Make it long enough so the winch can't be rotated. Weld a stop of some sort on one end so it can't slide through, drill a hole for a padlock in the opposite end.
Unlocking them every time would drive me nuts but that's just me.tc906, Cetane+, Clasix1055 and 1 other person Thank this. -
It would be pretty rare to have a strap stolen, and the cost of all those padlocks and hardware would buy a whole lot of replacement straps. A lot of trouble for nothing.

A year and half ago, I pulled a flatbed local and parked it at a Ryder shop in Columbus, OH. Had all the straps taken off my trailer twice over a 6 month period. Never had an issue at a truck stop though. Too many people moving about at all hours I think. Just don't park it at the West Memphis TA! They'll steal everything they can there. Mudflaps, lights, landing gear crank, etc. If they can get it off without a jack, they'll take it there. Was there years ago when at least 3 trucks had all their lights stolen in the middle of the night.
tc906 Thanks this.
