Take the time to cut a large block of wood to wrap around trans and catch both sides, that way it can’t slip, Small plate is between engine block and bracket, must be sacrificial dissimilar metals plate, maybe to keep block from corroding ?

Thanks you hopefully just solved a mystery for me. I had my engine out of my 91 not long ago. It's got a little vibration that has been hard on my mind since I got it back together. Atro is what i went back with.
What do you have the best luck with?jamespmack, spsauerland, SL3406 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Check that leak very well. There is nothing quite the feeling of doing a job like that to find out that was not the problem. Sometimes I stick a rag in the blowby tube for a bit. The little extra pressure helps find the source of some leaks.Dino soar, spsauerland, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this.

OEM rubber. Only thing I use ATRO on is Mack engine/trans mounts. To hard in most applications.jamespmack, Rideandrepair, SL3406 and 2 others Thank this.

Their tracking rods are killer and outlast the OE 2 to 1 in severe applications.
Too hard is not always a good thing, as you pointed out.jamespmack, Rideandrepair, Dino soar and 3 others Thank this. -
I just welded a tracking rod bracket back on a 46K Meritor axle this week on a Pete with a Haulmaxx suspension that was all Atro bushings. It beats you to death empty! Put the new style Hendrickson steel tracking rod back in. I know on lift axle bushings, rubber outperforms poly 2 to 1. I like some of Atro, just a place for both I guess.jamespmack, Rideandrepair, SL3406 and 3 others Thank this.

I used the anti-walk bushings on my Classic. They’re a harder ride, for sure. Holding up well though. Just noticed my super duper poly motor mounts are shot already, after 5 yrs. I’m going back to original rubber. I like the anti-walk idea, as Freightliner has a problem with that. But I stand corrected on poly being better, for all apps.
jamespmack Thanks this. -
This holds true with a poly carrier bearing bushing. Lasts for ever however.Rideandrepair and wore out Thank this.
