When I went through driving school '97, one of the other students went to work for an O/O that was leased to them. He lasted about 6 months and then went to someone else, too much politics and BS he said. I have a friend who drove for URS as an O/O on the East Coast, he's now the Supervisor for one of their yards.

You need a couple of years experience hauling cars. You will also need to have a decent driving record. Your truck and trailer will need to be in good shape. Give them a call, if you are wiling to work you will make money there. Proficient is also looking for owner operators.

Most of the drivers i have spoke to are learning the hard way that becoming an owner operator these days is not all its cracked up to be.
There is a lot of expense and this is why turning the headache over to drivers is very attractive to the companies.Tall Mike Thanks this.
