But it’s like I said early on. Your trailer is NOT an equipment trailer. It is not built the same. Sure it can haul equipment, but it will not hold up to the demands of hauling heavy equipment day in and day out.

My written words might not convey my emotions or tone. My tone was among friends for the record. For example: my best friend before you say why would you accept a ratecon: this is my experience. My only responses are happy. Never do I want to convey harsh words nor talking down.Big Road Skateboard and nikmirbre Thank this.

What about my 45t trailer isn’t meant for machinery equipment. I haven’t been able to see the specs. I am trying to understand this in all seriousness.Oxbow Thanks this.

Of the dozer.Big Road Skateboard, 1999 C12 and ElmerFudpucker Thank this.

Your scenario would be more akin to if he rolled the dozer off the side of the trailer.
or what happened with you would be better described in your analogy as. I told the driver to back over there in the yard and he busted my septic tank.Big Road Skateboard and Oxbow Thank this. -
There are multiple ways of rating a trailer. And there is no industry standard. Your trailer and most mechanicals are rate in evenly distributed load. That means 45 ton evenly throughout the whole well. So 45 ton in 29 feet. My trailer is rated at 55 ton in 12 feet. as you shorten the foot print of your load you decrease capacity.
So you may be a “45”ton trailer, but you may only be rated for 35 ton in 12 feet. A heavy concentrated load is hard on the neck and the rear transition. You will soon develop cracks there if you continue to load 80,000 pound dozers and excavators.
Think about it this way. If there wasn’t a difference why would I buy a trailer that was heavier and had a shorter well?Sons Hero, Big Road Skateboard, 1999 C12 and 1 other person Thank this. -
For starters, yours is a stretch, right? Most heavy equipment fits in a 25' well or less. My deck is only 21', but it is a 1996 48' trailer with 5' axle spacings, and I can still haul a fully dressed D8, or a 95,000lb. excavator. What shape will your trailer be in, in 25 years?Sons Hero, Big Road Skateboard, 1999 C12 and 1 other person Thank this.

I think we know what it will look like. Or maybe we don’t because it will have been melted down and turned into a Kia sorentoIH Truck Guy, Sons Hero, Big Road Skateboard and 1 other person Thank this.
